The 44^th Congressional District was redrawn following the 2000 census to include (mostly uninhabited) southern Orange County along with the northern portion western Riverside County, where most of the district's residents reside. Cities included in the district include Riverside, Corona, Norco, San Clemente and approximately half of San Juan Capistrano. The district also encompasses unincorporated areas including Mira Loma, Rubidoux and Woodcrest. Forty percent of the district's residents live in the city of Riverside.
