·     Current 44th District Republican Congressman Ken Calvert appears to have used “earmarking” to “enhance” the value of land in Riverside County he conveniently purchased for himself, claiming, “They haven’t passed a law against investing yet.”  He made a huge profit on the “timely” sale of this property.

·     Congressman Ken Calvert took $2,000 from his friend, Congressman Mark Foley, who had improper relations with underage congressional pages.

·     Ken Calvert is a “rubber stamp” for George W. Bush and his long list of failed Republican policies, including reckless spending, spying on Americans and the so-called “torture bill.”

·     Ken Calvert was recently named one of the “20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress” in a report by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington in September 2006. (Read the full Calvert report at www.citizensforethics.org)

 

We can and must do better than this.  We need real representation in Washington D.C., not a sadly self-serving, rubber-stamp, Republican do-nothing.
